A group of teachers and students representing the eight nationalities (Turkey, Romania, Poland, Lithuania, Italy, Bulgaria, Belgium and Spain) participating in the Comenius Project “United in Europe Through Culture and Tradition” had the fourth meeting of the Project in IES Francisco Figueras Pacheco, Alicante, from 2 to 8 May. During the meeting they had several workshops: lullabies (each participant played and sung a traditional lullaby and all the group learnt how to sing our popular song “Mareta”, legends (the Spanish students told the legend of “El Puig Campana), handcraft, etc; visits to the centre of Alicante, Elx, The palm tree forest, Ethnographic Centre of Puçol, visit to Museums (Museu de les Fogueres, Alicante; Museu de la Festa, Elx; Museu Etnographic, Puçol).
The most attractive activity was the participation of the whole group in the Romería de la Santa Faz, one of the most popular traditions in Alicante on Thursday May, 5.
Un grupo de profesores y alumnos representante de los ocho países participantes (Turquía, Rumanía, Polonia, Lituania, Italia, Bulgaria, Bélgica y España) en el Proyecto Comenius “United in Europe Through Culture and Tradition” tuvieron el cuarto encuentro del proyecto en el IES Francisco Figueras Pacheco de Alicante del 2 al 8 de mayo. Durante el encuentro tuvieron varios talleres de canciones de cuna (cada país tocó o cantó una nana de su folclore popular y todo el grupo aprendió a cantar la nana “Mareta”), leyendas (tres alumnos de 2º C, Diego, Raúl y Antonio, contaron en inglés la leyenda del Puig Campana, artesanía, etc. Se hicieron visitas al centro de Alicante y al Castillo, a Elche, al Palmeral y al Centro Etnográfico de Puçol., visitas a museos como el de Les Fogueres, Museu de la Festa.
Sin duda la actividad más interesante fue la participación de todo el grupo, más de cien personas, en la popular romería de La Santa Faz. El día 5 de mayo.
